Toni,
I don't know tons about it, but I know a few things. The first thing I would do is find someone (a chiropractor or naturopath) who specializes in homeopathics. Homeopathics can retrain the body and its immune processes. Preferably, this person would use muscle testing or a BioMeridian machine to individually test the homeopathic remedies on *your* body. Second, make sure you're supporting your adrenals. Third, look into supplementing your diet with iodine. Lugol's solution is so cheap and can help the thyroid tremendously. Iodine: Why You Need It Why You Can't Live Without It is a good source for information on this issue, although it's poorly written. Fourth, I'd read like crazy. That's all I've got. Sorry!

Just thought you might have recommendations for staying healthy with Hashimoto's. (I'm the third generation of doomed in my family- and by far the youngest at diagnosis.)

Toni,
Both of my parents have Hashimoto's. My poor kids! They're doomed. Anyway, it's an autoimmune thyroid disorder resulting in hypothyroidism (the under production of thyroid hormone). What kind of information are you looking for?

Ooooh. I adore lamb, and as my friend Esther said, "I have no problem eating something that once frolicked." :-P Unfortunately I pretty much only get it when we go out for fancy dinners (read: a couple times a year). The meat guy at our farmer's market only had pork last time, but he says his lambs will be big enough to butcher by next month. I can't wait, and I will most definitely be trying out this recipe.

BTW, what do you know about Hashimoto's Disease?
